Give the counter one job at a time.

Make room for preparation before adding another organizer.

It is possible to organize a countertop so thoroughly that there is nowhere left to prepare food. Start by identifying the stretch of clear space you use most, and protect it before choosing any countertop storage.

Separate daily use from occasional use

For several ordinary days, notice what you reach for and what stays untouched. This is a practical observation exercise, not a rule that every item must disappear. An appliance used daily may deserve its place; a rarely used attachment may not.

Use a footprint, not a photograph

Outline the proposed organizer on paper and place it where it would sit. Include the room needed to open it or remove its contents. Check whether it obstructs outlets, controls, or appliance ventilation. Follow the appliance manufacturer's clearance instructions.

A tray can define a small station for related objects, but it also needs cleaning and occupies space. Choose it if being able to lift that group together is useful. Skip it if it merely adds a border around clutter.

Keep the decision reversible

Try relocating items before purchasing storage. After a week, keep the changes that make everyday preparation easier. A clear patch of counter is a successful result even when no product was needed.

Original planning guidance, not a product test or a claim that a particular product will fit.
